Hospital Elder Neglect

When your loved one is in a hospital setting, neglect can occur due to incorrect or no medication, failure to properly bathe, change or move your loved one to prevent bedsores and actual physical abuse due to untrained or uncaring staff.

Nursing Home Neglect and Abuse

When in a nursing home setting, many times these are understaffed in order to cut costs, resulting in neglect of proper hygiene and physical care requirements for your loved one. As with hospital neglect, improper medication and lack of training or care of staff can lead to abuse and neglect.

You may have your loved one being provided care at home by a professional caregiver. Many times these caregivers are not properly trained or qualified to care for your elderly family member and may cause neglect due to this fact alone. There are many scams both on the internet and over the phone that daily swindle unsuspecting elders of their hard earned money. In addition, family members can sometimes take advantage of the elderly and attempt to defraud them of their money by labeling them incompetent or senile.
