Attorney Courtney Smith and Attorney Mark Stallworth met at Stetson University College of Law. There, Smith and Stallworth participated in the Black Law Student Association and won numerous mock trial competitions, as training in becoming the prominent Black Lawyers they are today.
Upon graduating from Stetson, Smith and Stallworth served as two of the state's few black Assistant State Attorneys and provided just and fair legal representation to the African-American community.
Smith and Stallworth went on to work with major civil litigation firms
that concentrated on,
personal injury,
wrongful death,
automobile accidents,
medical malpractice,
nursing home abuse, and
products liability. These two highly trained African American Lawyers gained extensive trial
experience handling complex
negligence cases and personal injury matters.
Smith and Stallworth then decided to combine their years of experience
to create a premier black law firm where hard work, client commitment,
professionalism, aggressive representation, and more than three decades
